Before testing

Clean the display dry, remove an interfering case if needed, and test in a calm setting without strong direct light. Do not press hard on damaged glass.

Dead Pixel Test

Solid colours fill the usable display and help you spot unusual pixels or uneven areas yourself. DeviceAid does not detect pixels automatically or make claims about invisible internal damage.

Display Artifact Test

Full-screen patterns support manual checks for flicker, lines, image retention, or other artifacts. Observe several patterns from a normal viewing distance. This is not certified display diagnosis.

Touch Grid Test

Slowly touch the entire usable display area. The app shows touched sections and progress. Gaps may justify a careful second test but are not an automatic defect finding.

Multitouch Test

Place several fingers on the display at once. DeviceAid shows the current and highest observed touch count. It does not guarantee one particular finger count for every iPhone model.

Screen Light

White Light, Warm Light, Red Light, and Blue Light use the display as a local light surface. The feature is intended for dark environments and does not replace a real flashlight. A temporary brightness change is restored on exit.

When professional inspection makes sense

Repeatable unresponsive areas, strong artifacts, flicker, or visible damage should be professionally inspected. Unremarkable manual checks cannot rule out internal or later problems.
