Possible causes

Muffled sound can come from a case, dirt, residual moisture, Bluetooth audio routing, or a hardware issue. DeviceAid does not identify the cause automatically.

Safe first steps

  1. Disconnect Bluetooth headphones and other audio devices.
  2. Temporarily remove the case and check whether openings are covered.
  3. Clean only gently and dry with a soft brush.
  4. Do not use needles, liquids, chemicals, or strong air pressure.
  5. Start Speaker Test at a comfortable volume.

Speaker Test

Low Tone, Mid Tone, High Tone, Voice-like Tone, and Crackle Check are short listening samples. Listen for differences, crackling, or dropouts and assess them yourself. Stop any sound immediately if it is uncomfortable. The test does not provide automatic acoustic diagnosis.

When moisture is possible

Water Eject can play local Quick Clean, Standard Clean, or Deep Clean sound patterns that may help move water from the speaker area. Results vary. Do not charge while liquid in the connector is suspected.

When to seek service

Professional inspection makes sense if the speaker remains muffled, distorted, or silent after careful cleaning and enough drying time. DeviceAid guarantees no repair and cannot rule out invisible internal damage.
